AZ New guy
I built a model of a '67 coupe when I was 10 or 12 and have been hooked ever since. I got my first traffic ticket on a mini bike before I had a driver's license. My first job was pumping gas at Paul's Sunoco in Westlake, OH in 1971- I started on my 16th birthday, because they couldn't hire me until I was 16! Still the most fun job I've ever had...
I have my first and only (so far) Corvette, a Torch Red 1999 Fixed Roof Coupe that I bought from the second owner in 2005 with only 8500 miles on it. It's been my weekend toy but transitioned to my daily driver and now has about 35 K miles. (I'll post pics soon, gotta clean it up first) I do my own maintenance (I'm one of those "big drips on the garage floor") and always use GM and AC Delco parts when I can.
I also have a '67 Chevelle SS 396 that I'm about to start working on (again, some more), a '66 Mustang GT Fastback, and an understanding, or at least tolerant, wife. A '65-'67 small block 4 speed coupe is tops on my want list, maybe a C6 Z06, but the wife gets to upgrade first if she wants to.
I promise to wave if I'm not shifting!

Nice collection of vehicles there.
Enjoy your time here.
Check out Scottsdale Pavillions on Saturdays. Lots of beautiful rides out there, and I believe one Saturday per month is somewhat dedicated to Corvettes with a sealed off section.
Welcome to the forum.

’99 FRC- my first and so far only ‘vette. I LOVE THIS CAR! Quick enough, nimble, predictable, reliable, and comfortable. The best bang for the buck ‘vette when I bought it, and my buddy’s daughter cried when she had to get out after her first ‘vette ride because she though it was Lightning McQueen.
’67 Chevelle SS396- bought from the original lady owner’s son in Lakewood CO in about 1980. She blew up the 396 (twice! - but not racing, neglect) and it had a 350 2bbl. in it. The car was in the back yard with a German Shepherd and a Black Lab living in it. I gave the guy about $850, drove it home, and cleaned the interior with a tub of hand cleaner and a scrub brush. I sold it to my sister to replace her ’69 Camaro and while she had it a garbage truck backed in to it and it was T-boned on the passenger side by a Jeep pickup. I bought it back, went to a junkyard, and the local community college repaired it with used and repop parts. I’m collecting pieces to put a big block in it, time to get busy!
’66 Mustang GT Fastback- the second car I ever bought, a worn out Georgia Tech college student’s car in ’77 when I was a senior at Ohio State. It has tons of “patina” due to a dirt floor Ohio garage and a car cover of old cotton bed sheets. The underside is really clean though, no cancer and never hit. It’s got a stock .030 over balanced and blueprinted 289 4 bbl. and T-10 4 speed. GT package includes quick ratio steering, front disc brakes and sway bar, dual exhaust out the rear valance, fog lights, etc. I redid the brakes, steering, suspension, clutch, and carb, resealed and repainted the engine and rewired the engine compartment. I got it back on the street last year and took it to the Pavilions two Saturdays ago.
So that’s the collection, now for the question. I picked up a set of chrome big block valve covers with drippers that really look factory original. They have individual plug wire grommets on the side and look just like the painted 72-74 454 ‘vette covers, but they’re chrome. I’m gonna throw up a post and see if some of you can help me ID them. They’re not right for the Chevelle so I’m gonna sell ‘em to help finance the big block. How do I get in touch with the NCRS/show/judge/restoration guys to help solve the Mystery Motor valve cover mystery?
