EricR and Fatbillybob have been super helpful as I went from looking for a C5 Z06, and ended up with a 2006 Z51 3LT C6.

Car has 62k miles, no mods. CD player does not work, wheel and brakes have some curb rash and corrosion, but its a good car overall. Bought it from Corvette world and got it this past Monday after my local GM dealer went through the car and did the headlight recall.

Looking to replace: the radio head unit, wheels and update the brakes to red or black calipers.

Welcome to the forum Mike!

I have the same wheels on my car, with the same funky look as yours. Getting them powder coated!

Thank you for the welcome. I am looking to get a second set of wheels and then have the wheels on the car redone. May get some replica z06 wheels, still in my learning curve!

ferrarichat is a cool site. If it were me id suggest shopping 19/20 inch c7 z51 wheels from the used for sale parts section of this site or your local craigslist. I paid $1000 for these oem wheels...and another grand for michelin AS 3 non runflat tires installed. Looks and handles great.

as far as the calibers...the auto parts stores sell high temperature paint...when you are taking off the stock wheels just clean and paint the calibers...i think it took me an hour to do all four calibers. Youll find the instructions on how to do this on youtube. It was ridiculously easy and i had never done it before. (I dont think I had done the calibers in this photo.

i just painted them high temperature black. They offer red and yellow paint as well.

nice sports car. Btw i have put 131k miles new on my c6 z51 manual and its been an utterly reliable vehicle.

have fun and welcome. As far as favorite inexpensive mods? My oersonal favorite is the corvettes of westchester COW booster. Its like 200 dollars installed and it makes the corvette extremely responsive and intuitive.

im a me,ber of ferrarichat as well. A very fun site for over a decade.

Thank you. The cars in the profile album were all mine over the years. Many of them have gone up so much in value now I would not be able to afford them and the taxes + maintenance.
The Pantera was a neat story: it was a very early "push button" door handle car with a VIN that was thought to have been lost. I posted the details on both the Pantera forum and Ferrarichat. Have no clue how to find them as it was years ago.

Missing a few cars but, need to dig through 37 hard drives to see where the pics went. The RUF BTR had over 600 horsepower and was cartoon stupid fast, and very dangerous. No cage, no ABS, no traction control, no airbags, and I had no where near the talent to play with its power and snap over steer tendencies.

I am really dumbfounded by just how good these Corvettes are, and I very much regret not buying one sooner as some of the fun cars I had were money pits, and not, "good cars."

Thank you.
