Been dreaming of owning a Corvette for 50 Years! I've been a Chevy guy all my life, and in fact, my first car was a 1969 Camaro. I've recently retired from the aerospace industry and am looking forward to flying fast and low for a change
I contacted Mike Furman at Criswell at the first of the month and put a 1LT 7-speed 2019 Grand Sport on order... she'll be Elkhart Lake Blue with Blade Silver full length stripes, gray interior, and chrome wheels. I opted for the carbon-flash ground effects package as well. Mike said the TPW was set for 4/22, so I'm hoping my first Corvette is well on its way!
Looking forward to learning all I can about this wonderful car from all of you, and hope to be involved in some great discussions! And maybe some day, I'll be lucky enough to meet some of you in person and enjoy our Corvette passions together!
From: In a parallel universe. Currently own 2014 Stingray Coupe.

Congrats on the pending delivery of your car and on your retirement. And welcome to the forum. Be sure to check out the C7 sections - lots of helpful members and good information can be found there.
Awww man, you all are great! Thank you so much for the warm welcome!
So it looks like my dream Grand Sport is "in transit" according to Kate P. in the Order Status thread. Wow! I guess that means a couple weeks yet to go at most. I can't wait!!
And btw Vette_DD, I did download a copy of the 2019 Owner Manual and have been going through it, thanks for the tip!
I took delivery last Saturday May 11 of this incredible fantastic machine! She's got 570 miles as of this writing. I drove her from Maryland to Michigan in the pouring rain over the weekend, never got her out of Weather Mode. I took her to LaFontaine Chevy in Dexter, MI today to get the 500 mile Dry Sump Oil Change completed. They were professional, courteous, and tolerant of a newbie that had far too many questions.
Never, ever, in my aviation flying career have I experienced an automobile that reminds me so much of a high performance aircraft! This is as close as it gets to flying on four wheels!
Congratulations! Your new Grand Sport is a beauty. Welcome to the CF. Oh, congrats on your retirement. I retired 7 years ago this month and recommend it to all!
