I bought my Dad's A/T 99 maroon coupe about a year ago, after having done most the maintenance on it for the decade he owned it. Third owner, pushing 150k on the original everything.
She's turned into a bit of a beater, but my aim is to restore and upgrade to get a nice, torque-rich daily. We likely wont see any kind of track and freeway use will be limited to long trips. Mostly city commuting and pleasure cruising is the plan for it.
Bone stock at the moment other than a Z06 Ti catback I added when the original rusted out
I think I am going to do what they call in the import world BPU, in this order:
- Some kind of rear-end change. It has 2.73 so a 3.15 would be cheap, but I am thinking of going right to a 3.73 from Zip Corvette. Then a Yank SS torque converter at the same time, either 3200 if I got 3.15 or 3600 if I go 3.42+ on the rear.
- decent headers, likely TSP
- vararam or honker intake
- LS6 Intake + LS2 Throttle Body
- Pro tune
