Greetings all!
My name is Ross and I'm interested in getting a C5 as a fun car and something to wrench on. I'm looking for a nice late production coupe, Z-51 package if possible, manual trans. I do my own work on cars as a general rule. I've wrenched on cars since age 10 or so, and I'm an SAE member. The only aspect of the transaxle 'Vettes I'm concerned about is doing the clutch service but it doesn't look too bad. Work space and time is the factor there. Since the C5 I've been very interested in Corvettes and I've noticed the used values for the C5 & -6 coming down a lot. I've found a yellow '03 6-spd locally for under $15k, for example. I've done some lurking here before joining and I've seen some really good advice on owning and searching for one. Obviously a C8 would be nice but my wallet disagrees! Maybe some day. I live in SoCal, but I may be relocating out of state as my company is expanding. Georgia is a big possibility.
