I'm one of those weirdos that fell in love with Corvette Summer when I was a kid...but oddly never really got into to Corvettes. On a recent trip down south this year, my family pulled into the Corvette Museum on a whim...and I realized I really did love Corvettes...especially the 73-77 range. So I got to looking.
Long story short, I just picked up my very first Corvette last week, a 1977. It's a looker at 10 feet, but it needs some work. First order of business is to put a new exhaust on it, so I'm splurging and putting on some headers and side pipes. Next step will be to replace the wheels with something more attractive and get new tires which are desperately needed.
After that it's a matter of fixing some small mechanical issues like getting the headlights to work and then I can start making it look pretty.
I kinda like this copper/root beer color but I might do something different later. I dunno.
Anyhow....here it is. Thanks in advance for all the help!
More pictures of inside and what does it have for a engine and trans?
Thanks everyone. The engine and tranny are a stock 350, which I'm actually really happy with. Having an engine I have some idea how to work on was pretty appealing when I started looking.
Originally the car was white with a red interior. It still has the red interior which I can't decide how I feel about. Ideally I'd love to have a tan interior, but I might make this two tone red/black to break up the monotony. Who knows. It's only time and money.
