I'm a Por-sha guy (and Porsche forum mod) who just got my first Corvette after a lifetime of sports cars.
I was on the list for a new C-8 (due to mid engine), but couldn't resist the bargain prices on the 2019s, especially after my wife traded her 2011 911 C4S for a Z-51 coupe and I got an extra 3K off.
I now have Z-51 LT2 black convertible (red interior) that is actually more rare than my limited edition (with number plaque) 2008 Boxster RS60 Spyder.
Oddly, the deciding factor for me was the upgraded electronics to synch my phone to my car. The 460 HP didn't hurt either. It is literally a neck-snapping surprise.
As noted elsewhere, the C7 Z-51 needs no apologies. It's the real deal. Both my wife and I prefer our Vettes to our Porsches - for different reasons.
That said, I hate the automatic shift points - regardless of mode - and suspect I should have gotten a manual. I've never had an auto before. My lady's 911 had a PDK, which works a bit better than the Chevy auto.
I'm delighted by the quality of the Corvette. Take the auto-journalists' yellow whiz-streams on Corvette quality vs Porsche with a grain salt. My wife's car and mine both blew bits of insulator foam out the AC vents (and so did my 2005), my in-dash drink holders required a $600 repair and her rearview mirror developed spots in the glass that mandated a $1,000 replacement. Let's not talk about chipping pain, a melting interior and rear taillights that - yes it's true - filled with WATER. All this and more on her $130K ride. My $80K (in 2008) car has other issues as well.
Once I drive both more, I'll post real-world comparisons with the Porsches. May even do some track time in both.
My wife and I both race motorcycles, so we know our way around the track. Years ago, I did SCCA Alfa Romeos.
Blah blah.
This forum is a great research tool. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum and to Corvette ownership. Congrats on your C7 and hope the car proves to be a much better quality experience than you had with your Porsche.
I loved the Porsches. Only note the q.c. issues since so many reviewers seem to trash Vette interior and build and embrace Teutonic superiority. Not so.
However, my wife's C5 drivers seat did go to hell (long before she got her P-car) and she had other issues after 5 years/90k miles (which I don't remember).
So far, I find the Z-51 more comfortable, way faster. But the Ps are more nimble. Still, no regrets from either of us.
