CorvetteForum Newb Post. Nebraska native. Cannot say I am a Corvette owner (yet) but long time LS based engine enthusiast... What brought me here (other than about every C5 Z06 control unit/module) was through multiple Google searches for troubleshooting/diagnosing issues. EVERY search led me to this forum. Anyone who has spent any amount of time using the internet as the best available "go to" free tool for diagnosing specific problems leads to a forum and who also cannot afford or has free/easy access to AllData or IdentiFix
The amount of information available on this forum, from what I have seen, the C5 Tech, is priceless... Before ever getting my hands on one, ive always had the impression that Corvettes (C5 and newer) are better left for a shop with mechanics with a 20+ year Snap-On payment, who do not know how much AllData or IdentiFix cost and take it for granted,do not know what its like to explain to a customer why their car is not finished and do not have their name, personally, riding on the end result.
Well i've been juggling the C5 Z06 or C6 ownership idea for a while now... I really think between popping my "corvette wrenching cherry" and this newly discovered community has helped my impression seem a lot less intimidating and now i find myself needing to "tie up the loose ends" on my turbo LS fox body ASAP so it can be sold (with confidence) next year, get the ball rolling on my bagged square body C10 i acquired for fabricating a twin turbo setup for a Silverado SS, blah blah blah.............
I also gotta add... The Corvette Gods blessed us with Bill Curlee. Though this is not new info to the members, the man really has a knack for spreading information/knowledge. That amount of compassion is rare, its awesome to see it within this community. So Thank You Bill, many more "thank yous" to come whether you see them or not haha.
