Recently picked up a C6 after looking around for a year. Turns out it is very difficult to find a nice C5-C6 model at an affordable price range. The car I picked up was owned by a doctor around his 70s for the last 8~ years and was kept bone stock, excited to have a clean platform to start modding.
The paint was a bit neglected, there were no scratches but it had water spots everywhere. I honestly expected them to come off after the first wash but they had been baked on. I take it that he was not a big car guy or an enthusiast and simply someone attracted to the car. Here it was after washing it for the first time owning it.
I quickly took the car to a close friend who does body work and had him buff the car out. The factory wheels on the car had also tarnished and the inside of the wheel coating was peeling off. I picked up a very nice set of used wheels for $400 and had the tires switched over. After a good wipe down of any interior marks (cashmere so it was time consuming) and the buff job the car finally looks brand new.
Welcome to the forum!! I think the car shows nicely! The red paint still looks to be in nice shape and looks brand new after the buffing! Does the car have a manual or automatic transmission?
It is an automatic. I looked around awhile at manuals but ran across a deal on this one. I do live in a high traffic area anyways though so perhaps the automatic will make things easier.
