Howdy, fellow Corvette fans. I'm David, currently making my home around Austin Texas, and I'm looking at buying my first Corvette sometime later this year. I've had a love of cars for a long time, probably starting when I first saw Cannonball run. My first car was a '91 Firebird, but I'm equal opportunity and bought a 2004 Mustang GT (slow, poorly built, but the sound was amazing). Several vehicles later, including a couple mini trucks and a hot hatch, I find myself now driving a 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia. She's the most beautiful vehicle that has ever graced my garage, and handles like a dream, but I keep finding myself thinking back to that American V8. I've looked at the other obvious options; the Charger/Challenger have the big V8s I crave but weighing as much as a house. The Mustang has grown a bit too portly for my tastes and while it handles amazingly well with the Performance Packs I can still feel the weight (coming from the Giulia, I have exceptionally high expectations for driving feel). So that led me to the Camaro. Superb chassis, gobs of power, an interior that is honestly impressive for the price, a real contender. Then I thought, what about a Corvette? I've had a love affair with Corvettes nearly as long as I've had an interest in cars (my dream garage has a spot reserved for a C4 ZR-1), and the timing is right personally...
So here I am, learning everything about how the Corvette has changed in the last 10-15 years, pretty set on a manual C7, and hoping to meet some interesting and knowledgeable people along the way.
