Lock-Down Corvette C6 Oman
. So I have been bored silly during the lock-down and have taken the opportunity to buy my first Corvette C6 to stop me losing my mind and give me something to do. Unfortunately due to the lock-down there was not a lot on offer, so I went round and seen all the C6's for sale, I took the best of the bunch (well I hope I did). The mileages are all over 300,000 KM, the one I chose has 292,592 KM on the clock (No that isn't my mobile number), and I paid 8,000 USD on 21st April. I expect to have to do a lot of work on it which to be honest is what I was looking for and thoroughly enjoy doing as much as I can myself. So I have joined the forum to learn as much as I can and be a part of a group of like-minded enthusiasts. Looking forward to being part of the community. I have bought a bunch of parts off EBAY and are waiting for them to come, a combination of mechanical and cosmetic items, looking to stay OEM where possible with tasteful enhancements. What I would like to do is to spark up a relationship with the best C6 OEM parts suppliers, so any recommendations are sincerely appreciated. Stay safe and take care.

You will find lots of great members and helpful information in the C6 sections at: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-2005-2013-14/.
There are a large number of vendors that are also forum sponsors. You can find them at the upper left side of the page marked Marketplace. And, when you are on some of the C6 pages you can ask about good vendors for whatever part you need.
Also, there are some vendors who are not very good for many reasons; either because they send wrong parts, they take too long to send parts, they will not reply to communications you may send them. You can find about this at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-feedback-153/
Best wishes with your C6 and hopefully this pandemic will soon be over and we can all be back on the road with our Corvettes!
we all like to here about the different cars. Enjoy and welcome to the forum

, 1.2 million KM, WOW, so I should be OK then. I really appreciate the information as well on suppliers, and the links, great help, thank you so much. Stay safe and take care.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I found the shocks are leaking and when I jacked up the car the rear driver side shock just bled oil all over the floor, I noticed it had contacted the wishbone as the shock has scratches on it. I checked the part numbers and they are GM Z06 shocks so ordered a new set on EBAY. Further investigation revealed the other side is leaking too so glad I did.
I deciphered the Service Parts Identification Sticker to check on the factory specs so I could see how it was when it left the factory. The interior is 2 tone leather, black and cashmere I guess, is a bit grubby so pulled it out (seats, centre console, rear carpets) to do some deep cleaning, found 3 x 1 cent coins and a dime so it looks like it started life in the USA? Would be interesting if any previous owners are on the forum. It seems that at some point it had lots of LED’s under the car and in multiple places as lots of redundant wires, done my best to remove these, probably around 50 metres of wiring and weird gadgets (look like small amps) so far, all gone in the trash.
Interior carpets have had coffee spilled on them, more than once so a killer to clean, made some progress with it and started to put the interior back in then decided to use some sound deadening and insulation to make the interior that little bit quieter and cooler. Deadening due to arrive this week, so will pull the seats and carpets again.
I found oil under the rear differential, not leaking as no drops but definitely needs new gaskets/seals. Likewise, in the engine bay, oil leak at the front under the throttle body, but looks like the belt has been spraying it around and even the throttle body had oil on the butterfly. Went to check the spark plugs and the leads virtually crumbled, killer heat in the middle east so electronics, plastics and rubber are always an issue.
Coolant hose has been bodged up too so ordered the silicone hoses, lots to do but so far so good, so keeping my fingers crossed. Stay safe and take care.
