New member here. I've been a Corvette fan since the early 80s but never owned one. I'm on the hunt for my first. Looking at 2008-09 with Z51 or 2010-13 Grand Sport. Love the C6 look and there seem to be a lot of them out there at reasonable prices these days. (Would consider Z06 - actually would LOVE a Z06 - but most of them in my price range tend to be very high-mileage cars.) I'm here to read the discussions and learn all I can before diving in. I've read stacks of books and magazines on 'Vettes over the years, but my experience with forums (on guns, guitars, trucks, whatever) is that there's usually some helpful info from the members that you just don't get anywhere else.
My current ride is a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended-cab Z71. I've changed the wheels. Guess I need to take new pics.
I'm keeping the pickup, so I want a 'Vette as a semi-daily driver, but not my only option.
Still shopping and I've pretty much decided that a C6 Grand Sport is in my future.
I'd hoped to have it by now, but there have been some setbacks.
My attempt to save up a good down payment took a major hit Thursday when the transmission went out on my pickup. That's going to cost me $4200, which would have gone a long way toward bringing home that GS.
