Hey all, I hope that everyone is well. I just picked up a new (to me) Corvette and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Eric and I live in a Detroit suburb. I've have a few different sports cars but this is my first Vette. I wasn't planning on buying one for another 5 years but life threw a curve ball at me. In December of 2019, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Being only 40 years old that scared the s*** out of me. Thankfully it was concentrated to only one area in the kidney and it did not spread. I was supposed to have my kidney removed in April but because of covid, it was pushed back until May. Thankfully in May, they removed my kidney in the cancer is gone. Hearing the C word made me realize that life is short. Because of that, I decided that I was going to buy myself a "surviving cancer" present. I found a 2014 low mileage 3LT that I bought from a member on here. My son and I flew out last weekend, picked up the car and drove it home on Tuesday. I've been lurking the forum for about a month now and can already tell that there is a wealth of information and a bunch of great people here. I'm happy that I'm able to be a part of such a great community! Here's a picture of the new whip!
Welcome to the Forum, Eric, and congratulations on your sharp C7!
Wishing you many years and many smiles driving your well deserved post cancer reward!
