Just wanted to stop in to introduce myself. My name is Trevor from Salem Oregon. About two weeks ago I purchased a 07 c6 base ls2/6l80e car. This is my second Vette the first was a 02 z06 I bought when I was 25 but was disappointed with the car and I think I had unrealistic expectations out of it. It put a rather bad taste in my mouth so I didn’t even consider corvettes for quite a long time. I had been searching for a “nice” car or truck for myself for about the last 4 months since I’ve been driving 1000-3000 dollar beaters for the last 7 years while trying to do more adult things with my money like paying my house off which I then sold and bought a triplex. Well long story short I was finally in a good position where I could buy something fun again and looked long and hard at srt8 Jeeps, trailblazer ss’s and a few other options but they all seems very expensive for the level of performance they put out as well as the mileage/ wear and tear the vehicles had. Finally a 07 c6 popped up for what I thought was a really good deal and it was a color I liked so I went to go test drive the car and absolutely fell in love with it. It had been a really long time since I have felt this way as most of the fun cars I had were home made race / street cars that at the end of the day we’re still beaters. My c6 is far from perfect but I can look past its flaws and appreciate it for what it is. Its cheaper to insure then my 2000 Honda Insight was lol, gets nearly 30mpg on the highway and feels exotic to me. Its really everything I wanted in a nice car for myself.
little background on my self, I tune cars for a living, since 2010, specializing mostly in Honda’s and Acura’s but I’ve been wanting to move more into gm stuff as the last couple of years I’ve been dipping into them but I still have much to learn. I’ve built a couple of ls swapped s10’s, one na, the other turbo’d and both trucks really turned out great. Opportunity came to sell each of them recently at a profit so I let them go and decided to get a toy for myself.
I am planning on fixing the small cosmetic issues with the car as well as making sure maintenance is all up to-date before starting modifications but I believe the route I want to go is with the A&A supercharger setup, it just seems very well engineered and I think it would keep the car driving like stock with just a lot more power.
anywho, here’s some bad pictures of my car but if your out in Oregon feel free to say hello. First night I got the car. Note the black 2000 s10 in the background is a btr stage 3 truck cammed 4.8l/ nv3500. Made 326/302 on the dyno I tune on. Can’t see the babe in the passenger seat but that’s my fiancé. Picked up this carbon fiber diffuser used off Craigslist in great shape. At the gym getting my swole on.
