How has everone been?
First Corvette was a 1986 pace car replica and I loved it. Drove it all over and when the mileage got up there I replaced it with a 1990 in chameleon yellow (that's what everyone called it bc of paint issues). Then onto a 95 pacer followed by a 98 pacer. Was aiming at a 01 pace car when something happened and Corvette was not the pace car. So I bought an 01 and lastly an 04.
Getting ready to replace in 07 and I said to myself "Am I crazy? The new car will be nearly the same as the last 6. I'm doing something different." I bought a 911, my 3rd Porsche. Always said I'd be back to Porsche and I did. Later I saw a Lotus on Top Gear and said "I need that car. I will keep it for 2 years and sell it before it falls apart." Got one and loved it. Got into tracking it and it was amazing. When it was time to retire the Lotus there was no other 2000 lb car sold in America. So... I kept the Porsche for the street and bought a real track car. 1998 World Sports Racer (pic attached). Drove for a few years then when the hobby slowly turned into a career I threw in the helmet, sold the race car and bought a sailboat.
Time to sell the Porsche and throroughly disgusted with the company. Loved the cars but the arrogant a$$holes that made it think it is still their car. I am an engineer in the racing industry and a gearhead. I do my own maintenance. Porsche will not even let me reset the oil change light so I said byebye to the brand and went to search out a car that I cam maintain. Found a low mileage 98 pace car and now it is my 7th Corvette (or number 4B because the original was my fourth). My favorite Corvette is now my favorite again and I am in heaven.
Sorry for so many words. Just had to confess why I left and came back. So... Hi again!
