A Corvette owner at last
I moved on from this experience and bought a 3rd gen RX7, which kicked off a decade of Japanese sports car ownership. After that, I transitioned to European manufacturers, culminating in the purchase of a 2010 Porsche GT3 four years ago. This car has been my passion project. The motor is bored and stroked (3.8l to 4.2l) and built around the crankshaft from Porsche’s 911 RSR endurance racer. It revs to 8800rpm and makes 450rwhp. For suspension, I use motorsport grade JRZ triple-adjustable coilovers. This car is now pretty hardcore but not the greatest for daily driving.
Shopping for a really fun daily driver these past couple of months, my thoughts returned again to Corvette. In addition to everyday usability, I wanted something lightweight with naturally aspirated power and a manual transmission. The C6 Z06 just ticked all the boxes for me and importantly was an opportunity to fulfill my long dream of Corvette ownership.
Finally, here’s the car. I bought it from a forum member local to me in SoCal. It’s a 2007 with 19k miles and equipped with a fresh LS7. It also has new wheels and tires and carbon ceramic brakes.
So excited to be part of the community. I’m going to enjoy participating in the forum as an owner at last.
