I wouldn't call myself a total newbie since I have been lurking like a weasel in a footlocker for a couple years, but now that I have actually bought my C3 I decided to make it official! My name is Paul but I go by Drunken Master Paul or DMP on the interwebs. The sound you just heard was the bourbon hitting the ice. Let's rock!
This my first Corvette and I couldn't be happier with it. It's a '77 that started life as an L48 but the previous owner dropped a GM crate in along with a 700r4 and 3" exhaust. Pretty much exactly what I wanted to do. He also did the interior except the seats and gave me a cubic butt-ton of extra parts including another set of T Tops and a set of rally wheels. I don't want a numbers matching car as I want to muck around with it and have fun and don't want to feel bad about "spoiling" a classic. She has just the right amount of patina to still be sexy but still ready to party. Not unlike my wife. We named her (the car) Yvette after the maid in Clue. Super curvy and just might kill the cook.
Since the big stuff is already done I have a new list of upgrades including:
Converting from vacuum to electric light openers
Upgrading every light bulb in the car to LED
Redoing the seats
Upgrade radiator/fan
Going EFI
Paint, possibly in a Crimson Skies theme.
