New from seacoast MA
I'm one of many Chevy noobs that the C8 has captured the attention of. While I respected the price/performance ratio of the C6 and C7, I had absolutely zero interest in owning a Corvette until the C8. The only American sports car I've ever owned was a 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z in which I blew up 3 Getrag transmissions. I moved from there to a Stillen modded 300ZXTT, then I spent 10 years in a Comptech NSX daily driver with the occasional track event. Put over 100K trouble free miles on that car.
Then I had 2 kids 16 months apart and needed a back seat. I moved to an E46 M3 then came a 550hp 996 Turbo S. I was totally paranoid that car would get scratched or dinged whenever I parked it and often found myself avoiding driving it anywhere. After a year of that, I couldn't take the anxiety and sold it to a fellow autoXer. I now DD (and autocross) an ECU/TCU chipped Audi S3. Definitely a step down from the previous 2 cars as far as autocross performance but still a lot of fun (especially with AWD RE-71R sneakers on and off track).
My son turned 16 last week, my daughter is 15 in may and today I put a deposit down on a 202? C8 Z06 HTC with Macmulkin. I think of the Z06 as the NSX Gen 2 that Honda never built. If it turns out the spy audio recordings, photos and rumors are wrong and it doesn't have an FPC with 8-9K redline, my interest would wane pretty rapidly. If there's anyone on here from the NSXprime forums, HELLO!!! LTNS
I'm looking forward to joining the party in a year or two (release and allocation dependent) but am jumping in early to immerse myself a bit more in C8 knowledge.
