Another German Newbie
I´m 55 years old and live with my wife near Frankfurt/Main in central Germany. After a heavy motorcycle accident in 2013 in which I lost my lower left leg I was always sine then on the hunt for a "V2 to V8 conversion kit" 😬. My preferred car was all the time, you guess it, an early Mustang form year 1967 or 1968. And over the years I got more comfortable with the Mustang models, technology and technical things to check before buy. But I didn't find a car that matched my wishes and my budget because as you know the prices for historic cars raises all the time.
Last time in summer I checked again the inventory of a Netherland based dealer and found the below picture of a fawn beige 1962 C1 Corvette and fall instantly in love with this car. I bought it two days later with only a very very little knowledge about Corvettes compared to my Mustang knowledge base. Yes, I was aware of this but I could not resist 😉.
The car had two owners before and was professionell restored in the mid of the 80s in the Netherlands from the last owner, a now 85 years old guy who bought the car from the first owner who lived in the LA area. I have a lot of original and official papers from both owners and the original black plate.
It took a little bit time till I got organized the car delivery to central Germany so I could only drive two times last year before winter time till last week. Although I have some experience with motorcycles and also cars from my youth, especial with Italian Alfa Romeo, but I am an absolutely newbie with old Corvettes and their technology. I read a lot in the last couple of months but of course I do not have any experience with my new toy and hope I can get here some information I may need in future.
I'm very proud to own this great American historic car and to be a member of this community.
Thank you for excusing my maybe sometimes bad English 🙃.
