Hi all,
I'm Scott. First time with a Corvette. I found this page through a Facebook group. The car was my father-in-law's (we lost him in February). That's the source for the screen name. Anyways, I told the wife, given the chance, I'd like to keep the car from the estate, since it reminds me so much of him. I'm hoping to take good care of the car, but I don't think he'd mind one bit if I made it a little bit meaner than it is, whether that be adding HP and/or playing with the stance. (He loved doing donuts and wearing out some tires!) I'm also hoping to modernize the head-unit and perhaps install a backup camera, too. Regardless, I suspect many answers will be found here. I look forward to the assists and advice.

Welcome and my condolences on the loss of your FIL. Nice looking C5 and as Vette_DD mentioned, check out the various C5 sections of the forum for info and helpful members.
Welcome to the Forum, Scott!
Condolences on the passing of your father-in-law, but glad that the car is staying in the family.
Best wishes with your plans; definitely concur with your decision to update the head unit and add a back up camera. Changing to a double din console will really open up your head unit opportunities and will aid in your back up camera. (We added both a back up and forward looking camera when we did our double din conversion).
And never anything wrong with added horsepower!
It's nice to see these forums are active! I was hoping I wasn't on a site that was dying. That boosts confidence.
I response to the stereo and double-DIN unit, I suspect a small amount of research here will result in a lot of owners who have done the same thing. Currently, based on a wee-bit of digging, I suspect I will be purchasing through Crutchfield, since they seem so informative. If you have better recommendations, let me know!
Also, what is the general consensus on using spacers on factory wheels? (just a consideration right now)
