I am about to take ownership in the next few weeks of a C3 Corvette that used to be my mothers car when she was younger. She has since passed many years ago, and my grandfather is going to give me the car as he can no longer keep up with his many projects.
The car last ran in 2017, he redid the interior and had it repainted in 2015. The paint and interior are in pretty good shape, but it needs a lot of odds and ends. From what he told me the ac/heating controls and systems need overhauled, also there are a few gauges that do not work. I am in the process of having the carb rebuilt and flushing the tank and fuel lines. He also mentioned the wiring harness that goes from the cowl forward is not in the best shape. So there are plenty of things to dive into for sure.
I have been reading the forums gathering information in preparation for some of the work coming. A crate engine and redoing the front wiring harness in the car are very real possibilities in the next year or 3.
