I very much enjoy this forum and have used the advice from the Tech pages to get my 1998 C5 in top running shape. I was the proud owner of a '62 and a '66 convertible years ago and recently bought my black C5 convertible. I sold the '62 and '66 to buy my 1st house at the age of 24 in 1974 and have wanted another Corvette for many years. So far, I have had the CLB installed by the dealer due to the column locking on my 2nd day of ownership. I've cleaned the MAF and throttle body and will change plugs and wires next week. I needed to invent a better and more secure air filter mechanism as the spring clips fell off while changing the filter so, that's done. Next, I want to have the top re-dyed and freshened up to like new. It only shows a bit of fading but it should be gone over.
I really enjoy the C5 but had planned to buy a '63 to '67 coupe until I couldn't find a decent one at what I wanted to spend. The newer Corvettes are a lot nicer to drive and the performance is great too. I'm looking forward to this forum to keep my C5 running and enjoyable.
Thanks, Don

Don - welcome to the forum and congrats on a very good choice in a C5. For your air filter, why not consider going with an aftermarket one. I ran an SLP Blackwing on my last two C5s and really liked its performance.
Thanks for the warm welcome, I'm looking forward to using this forum for helpful information.
I am on the fence regarding an oil catch can. The car has never had one but the throttle body was a bit messy and I do have some slick stuff on the back end. I know they work but are there any negatives?
