Hello all,
just got me the long awaited 1980 corvette, I liked the sleekness of the design. Now I’m retired and own the time. The one I got is rust free (lucky me), but, there’s always a BUT 🥴, the car was painted white (very bad job). So the issues I’m facing are with the interior electric connections after the repaint. In addition to an engine mounting broken mount.
Decided to lift the body and redo everything from powder coating the frame, rebuild the engine, transmission, suspensions and so on.
over all, the car runs great, engine sound good (matching number)
I will definitely need the help from all the expertise here
Welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your C3!
Lott of great members and helpful information in the C3 sections that should be very beneficial to your project.
Thanks all, I sure will be active at the C3 forums, I just started dismantling the interior and looks like Bubba was active on the wires. Nevertheless, I’ll manage with the help of the great members.
Could you help please
finaly I got the endoscope to examine the car in more details… I was told by the seller that it could be wire a matching number, I didn’t care much as long as it is a true L48. Now that I have the endoscope, I zoomed into the gas tank and of course the chassis (all in perfect condition with very minimal rust. Zoomed behind the A/C compressor to look for the engine stamp I found this number
what is it?
it’s not a matching number I guess
Looks to be a great car!! Would love to see a thread detailing the restoration process!
thanks, it will require a lot of effort and time to bring it back to life… will be doing the body lift next week… will see how it goes after that.
still looking for the meaning of the (FSD code) I found on the engine stamp. Deciphered all except the FSD
I will also need to know what kind of engine I have. Keeping the positive energy around it 😅
