Hello all
I just joined the forum even though I am on my 2nd Corvette. The first was a 2009 base that I had for just over a year when it was totaled due to getting rear ended while stopped at a stoplight at 45 mph.
With the insurance payout I found a 2011 Grand Sport with 30K miles and almost all the options I wanted. It is a 3lt JSB with auto, head up display, transparent roof but only the base bose system which I replaced with a Kenwood with backup camera and navigation.
I also own 3 classic MG-B's, a Triumph TR-6 and a Mini Cooper S
Now that I am 70 yrs old and retired, I wanted a car with 'amenities' that I could use for touring. Before the plague hit us I drove the 2009 on the full historic Rt-66 from Chicago to Santa Monica and had an absolute blast.
Welcome to the Forum, and congratulations on your sharp C6 GS!
Bummer about your accident but glad that you came out of it okay.
We've done many parts of Rt 66, but never the entire run. Just added to our bucket list.

It should be on every ones bucket list! I was lucky as being retired and no responsibility to be anywhere I let the trip dictate the time, rather than the time dictating the trip. So if I wanted to explore someplace I did, If I was tired and wanted to take a days rest, I did. There is a well researched turn by turn guide available on Amazon "EZ66 Guide for Travelers" that is a must buy for making the trip. Not only does it give you the directions needed to follow the route, it has highlights identified along the route. I took well over 1500 pictures and am starting to think about another trip.
