I waited 15 years to buy my first Corvette, a 2012 Grand Sport in yellow with a manual transmission! I discovered this website as I'm trying to troubleshoot a fuel odor after filling up and parking in the garage. Other than this mysterious quirk, all other aspects of this car have surpassed my expectations. Looking forward to learning more and more about Corvettes in general. And now at age 53, I can stop slapping my forehead and say, "I could have had a V8." This is my first V8 motored car in my life! ;-) Oh, I've been married for just under 30 years and have two daughters and a female tabby cat; since I'm surrounded by an ocean of estrogen, I name my cars and guns guy names. My car is Bocephus.
Welcome to the Forum, and congratulations on your C6 GS!
This is more of a "hello" section. I would encourage you to ask your question about the fuel odor in the C6 sections (I recommend asking in "Tech"). You will find lots of great members and helpful info there.
Enjoy your ride and save the wave!
Congrats! Once you're through the C6, move on Up to the C7 and C8! That's where the distinction is nowadays. Irregardless, welcome to Corvette Ownership !!!
Thank you for the kind and warm welcomes. I've had a "first" yesterday. Three different times, all within just 10 or so miles of driving, I had 3 interactions/experiences with other drivers. 1. A fella in his mid 20s got out of his car as he parked next to me, and mentioned my car was nice and asked if it was a Corvette. 2. A fella in his late teens was in his Mini Cooper at the light next to me to my left. He had elevated himself up as high as he could from his seat and was just swiveling his head left and right as he was studying my car. And 3. I was at the station pumping 91 non-ethanol into the car, and the guy opposite of me said, "You know this already, but your car is beautiful." I've never gotten this kind of attention/reactions from any of my previous Nissan Z cars or the M3 I used to drive. A whole new kind of world for sure! And a very high percentage of other Corvette owners DO wave or give a thumbs up as I return the gesture. And as the bad guy, Emil, in the first Robocop movie said, "I...Like It!"
PS. I did sample and look around at quite a few other forums before joining this one, and I think this one is the cat's meow among the rest! ;-)
