Hey everyone!
I'm thinking very strongly about starting my Corvette journey and many places online have suggested I take a look around here. So here I am!
Well, my Taurus has seen better days since well before I bought it, and it was never much fun to drive in the first place. But for what I paid for it, it has gotten me from A to B reasonably well. My dad has taught me a thing or two about keeping a car running, and with his help, I was able to keep my handed-down '98 LeSabre on the road until the frame gave out and have gotten more years already out of the Taurus than I though I would. Maybe it'll be my winter car for a while yet if my plans work out.
Anyhow, now that I've got some money to my name over the years, I'd like to drive something fun. Honestly, the late years of the C4 have been etched into my mind since I was a boy and I think that's what I'm aiming for. I've picked up a little information so far but I'm still just learning. Hopefully I'll feel knowledgeable enough to make a purchase within the next year and can make my '95 or '96 Corvette dream come true.
Thanks for having me and I'm excited to learn more from the resident experts!
Welcome to the Forum!
You are on the right path by coming here to learn more about the C4 generation of Corvettes. More information makes you a better prepared buyer.
Take some time going through the different discussions in the C4 sections at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1984-1996-19/. I would especially encourage you to read the Sticky Threads at the top of the Tech and General Discussion areas; lot of good material there. Also, you may want to check the C4 Corvettes For Sale section. Even if you do not find "your car" there you will have a good idea of the going prices.
We enjoyed our C4s and in fact used one as a daily driver for many years. And, the later years will have all the improvements Chevy added over the years.
Best wishes with your search for your C4!
Thanks very much guys! You've got a lot of useful info all over the place here. I'm very excited even to keep reading! I'll keep an eye out for prices in the For Sale section as well.
Welcome to the world of Corvettes, and please do your homework, and whatever you buy get it checked out properly so you know what you are buying.
I'm not going to kid you, repairs on Corvette's are expensive, nothing cheap from tires to parts.
Thanks again guys. Nice to see some of you so close to home. There's a guy I see often at my small town grocery store with his C8. No matter which generation, it looks like there's a lot of fun to be had.
Appreciate the advice too. It's important to know what I'm getting into!
