Default Introducing myself

Hi there.

I'm s1500. My father recently passed away, which brought me to these forums. I inherited a 1968 Corvette, but no ordinary Vette. It has way too much horsepower, and is a so customized(a show car), I think the only thing left stock was the VIN.

Problem is, it's not all put back together. The engine was rebuilt 5 years ago after something broke, and was never put back in. It has been sitting on jackstands for several years. My plan is to get it all back together(not necessarily running), and sell it to give the $ to my nephew, as per the will. I owned a Triumph Spitfire for 25 years(hence my username), and learned quite a bit of auto mechanics from owning that. But this C3 is a little bit above my skill level. Big engine, big Ingelese(sp?) carb setup, and more horsepower than I know what to do with.

So I have come for help. I reached out to my local Corvette club(both parents are lifetime members) to get a team of surgeons together to help. What I want to do in the mean time is get as much possible together before any engine gets hoisted in. There's quite a few parts scattered about, and to make things fun, there's also parts from his other Vette he used to have('69) which might be a bit of a jumble up.

Having a love of engineering, inherited from both sides of my family, who am I to turn down a challenge?

The show so far.

Good luck getting the car back together. I recommend posting in the C3 sections where you will find a lot of useful info and helpful members that can assist you with your car.

And welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the Forum, Ryan!
Sounds like a nice '68, but a bummer it is in so many pieces. I imagine you will have many potential buyers interested in this car with the Jim Inglese Weber fuel set up. I have not seen one of these in many years, but they certainly look impressive on top of the engine; and, they are a very nice performing (and nice sounding), intake system, too.
Best wishes with your plans to get the car into a salable condition so you can provide the proceeds to your nephew.

Welcome sell it quick before the market goes down. Nice car but a money pit. One thing leads to another!
