Hi All,
Curt from Las Vegas here. Recently retired (January 2022) and have been following the saga of the new C8 Corvette ever since hearing about the (real) likelihood of a mid-engined Vette. I was anxiously awaiting the information about the Z06, which is my planned purchase within the next few years, but I'm open tote the possibility of one of the other variants whose details have not yet been formally detailed. The key for me is the widened body/chassis and the steamroller tires in whatever version I eventually get! Yes, I'm in it more for the look of the car than the performance aspect, but the Z06 numbers are crazy! I didn't want to get a new car until I was retired, as I did not want to make my Corvette a daily driver, and now that I'm no longer working, I won't have that daiy driving need any longer!
I've owned one Corvette in my life, and that was an underwhelming 1991 model, black with black leather interior. A nice car that I just never bonded with. But then, that car was not a C8!
A bit about me...I'm a retired nuclear engineer, from the Chicago suburbs originally, now a Las Vegas resident for 21 years. I mess around with a variety of musical instruments, photography, and my favorite hobby is scale model building (airplanes and armor). Glad to be here...and hope I learn a lot and meet some nice folks with similar interests.
