Hey, everyone!
I wanted to check in and introduce myself. I’ve loved the C3 body style since I was a kid but didn’t plan on buying one until I sold my condo and bought a house later this year. Life has a funny way of changing those plans, when you have a C3 literally lands in your lap for less than $500. After some work, it now runs and drives pretty well. This car is ROUGH but nothing some elbow grease and TLC can’t slowly but surely fix. It’s a 1978 L82 with an automatic transmission. It has AC, power locks and power windows. I’ve been lurking on here for awhile and have been getting a ton of information already. I finally decided to become a member and can’t wait to meet some new people and learn more about the C3 model. Thanks!
Welcome to the Forum, Nick, and congratulations on your C3!
Sounds like you made a super deal on this; especially to already have it running!
Best wishes with your restoration.
Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention and I accidentally wrote 78. It’s 1979. I was born in 78. Hence “78Nickw/79”. Thanks for the welcomes. As soon as I get a chance to snap some pics, I will. It’s at my In-laws house right now cuz I can’t work on cars at my condo, so it has to live over there until I get it up and running a little more consistently. I had to pull the steering wheel to put a new ignition in because the previous owner broke the ignition switch and it spun and started the vehicle with no key. Of course, while I was in there I found out that the turn signal lever was cracked and it snapped off. It was already broken at the tip, so I’m waiting on a new part but I’m not sure how I’m going to get the small part the broke off inside the inside locking plastic part. I might have to drill it or buy a whole new one.
