Since this is my first post figured I would introduce myself, my name is Garry McKissick. Have been working on cars since the age of 11 when my Father owned a garage and bodyshop back in Philly. Since those years I went on to get a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from University of Hartford, and a Master's of Mechanical Engineering from GMI Engineering. My career started out as a Resident Engineer for Chrysler Corporation in 1995, spent 12 years working for Chrysler - some highlites were writing an SAE paper, getting a patent, and winning an award for most innovative use of plastics. I was part of the team that designed and developed the 2.4L Turbo engine. After my 12 year career moved from Michigan to California and get into the Diesel engine exhaust industry (ie. Diesel particle filters, DOC , SCR's). I've been in the exhaust development / design industry working on Passenger car exhaust, until past 5+ years of Commerical Vehicle Diesel engine aftertreatment systems. Have just over 14 yrs of exhaust design and development work, and currently the Sr. Manager Product Development - Commerical Vehicles.
Wanted to get back into a car scene again after many years away from this. Picked up a 1992 Black Rose Convertible with gray interior and black top. We've been told its 1 of 38 built in this color combination, still trying to find the exact figures on this. Our Corvette has only 30,470 miles and we bought it in the dead of winter here in Michigan - ie. January. This couldn't have been the worse time to purchase a car.
Thanks for the welcome and looking forward to learning more about our Corvette
