Default New '82

Greetings from the coast of North Carolina. Just bought a red 1982 Vette. 1982 was the year I graduated from high school so you can do the math, ugh. I was smitten with the car then and still am. Looking forward to getting the car dialed in and enjoying the heck out of it on the beautiful roads along the coast.

Thank you! Looking forward to learning all things Vette here.

The awesome gentleman I purchased the car from is active duty Air Force and he put the flag on and there it will stay.

Thanks for the welcome, very cool to belong to the Vette community. Vettis, I am over in Wilmington, pretty decent Vette club here, almost 90 members. Great places to go cruising, Southport, Ocean Isle, Sunset Beach etc. I had to kiss a lot of frogs to find that car, so many are just beat to death. Mine has a few little things that need done but over all I am very happy with the condition.

Welcome to CF. I'm also a 1982 HS grad - we're having our 40th reunion in October, yikes! Enjoy your car!

Thanks again for the warm welcome. I have some issues I want to address right out of the gate and I am assuming they have probably already been done to death so I was hoping for some advice as to how to find the threads I am looking for.

Well, remember she is a 40 year old car, LOL. No matter how shiny she looks, she'll have issues!

Best place to start is in the C3 General Forum. Click on search, then advanced search and play around with some keywords. It is pretty intuitive. I like using on a laptop/computer better than my phone. Good luck!

Thanks 2Tone. I never use a phone for that sort of thing, I like having lots of real estate (ie. big screen) when navigating the web. By the way, love the blue 82 you have. I looked at one like that but it was just too beat up. I don't mind some small projects but that one needed some serious restoration work. The guy that sold the car to me was very up front about the things that needed attention and the price reflected that. Power seat out, power antennae a no go, like that. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
