First Vette
New to the Corvette life, previously owned a 2016 Mustang GT manual. I did a lot of things to that car, full body kit mods (hood, splitters, skirts, rear valance, full exhaust, braum seats, carbon fiber/alcantara steering wheel, lowered it on eibach sportlines, super tight wheel fitment on ESR's (wack, I know), custom real seat delete, wood paneling in the trunk and so on.. you get it, I like to mod).
Anyways, sold that car and "upgraded" to a 2001 Black C5, preferred package, came with the more aggressive suspension (z51?) The car has XS catted LT's with X-pipe and stock mufflers, MGW Short Throw Shifter and a Vararam Intake. It's on Z06 wheels 17x7.5 / 18x8.5 (going to change this setup asap, thinking of putting the back's up front and getting 18x10.5 for the back, but would really like a square setup). Already has the wheel lockout harness installed too!
Car came to me literally mint with 49k miles. Look's brand new, engine bay spotless, fender wells spotless and all interior components looks super fresh. I've only had it for couple days and really loving it, sounds amazing, handles like a dream. Floor mats are brand new, still wrapped in plastic. Seat's have minor wear on driver side, but not an issue so far, will get some new cushions and leather in the future, I actually like the seats and want to keep them stock rather than lose all the existing functionality for an upgrade.
Now..for the opportunities and plans for the car.
Seat has the back and forth wobble, that's on the list of soon to be fixed, watched all the videos on that so I just need to order the parts (assuming its the bracket issue on the slider).
It pop's like crazy, if I rev down in 2nd or 3rd I get some extremely loud bangs and then some crackles... is that normal for the exhaust setup I have or is a flag that I need to get it retuned (I don't know if the car is tuned for that or tuned at all). I honestly love that about it though, so if its not an issue I'm not changing it.
I'm getting the "Service ABS" light, so I need to look into what's up with that.
Part's that should be here Monday.. Black wire mesh covers for the intake and fog light gaps, CS splitter (wanted the z06 but gonna rock this one until I lower the car and get used the ride height). Black/Clear Turn Signal/Front Marker housings. New badges for front and back, both are peeling.
Will be maxing out the stock bolts soon, my last car was super low and long like the C5 so I'm confident I can navigate in this condition.
Stereo upgrade for sure, not sure if I want to hit this one on my own or take it to a shop. I've watched some videos on installs and it's not too extreme, but with something like that I would almost rather pay a pro to do it.
Thing's I've done so far, full led interior (floor, trunk and glove box), Led reverse, Led Plate light, Upgraded to some nice Halogen DRL's for now.
Other than that.. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to include as much info as I can and plans for the car. It's a second vehicle for me but I'm going to drive it a lot due to HP addiction. I am a big fan of static or stanced car's, modding them ect. I'm not a drag racer or track racer. The motor mod's I have are plenty for how I drive it, only thing I may look into is the valve spring replacement (idk if it's been done yet, plugs and wire, maybe upgrade intake mani and a tune. For this I want the car to drive great, stay in great condition and bring me many many miles of smiles.
Here are some pics of it as of now; if you read this far then wow, thank you, feel free to shoot me any pm, reply here ect for any rec's or feedback on anything. Would love the help!
Regards,
Caleb

Hard to tell for sure about your suspension. It may be the factory Z51 option which was upgraded springs, shocks and anti-sway bars, and a power steering cooler. You can check on your RPO list (inside of the glove box door). If you have the Z51 option, you will see codes. Z51 and FE3.
If you show FE1, you have (or had) the standard suspension. One of the more common handling upgrades many C5 owners do is to switch over to the C6 Z06 shocks and the C6 Z51 anti-sway bars; this makes a noticeable improvement to the C5 suspension.
Best wishes with your future mods. In the meantime, enjoy your ride and save the wave!

I graduated from High School in Carthage, MO - so very familiar with your area.

The exhaust popping and crackling as you described it is most likely an aftermarket. My C5 Had a Corsa and did that all the time. Loved it!!
