Hello from Ohio. Clyde here. I've been tinkering since second grade and that was awhile back. I enjoy the projects as much as the ride in the finished projects. Retired from Big Oil. Just purchased a 1973 Coupe. PO passed a year ago and I picked up the car at auction. The car, IMHO is a high grade frame off amateur restoration. If this fellow could buy a new part, it's on this car. A couple of examples: the vacuum hoses to the head lights are new color coded, the entire interior is new, the frame was sandblasted & painted. And it goes on and on. The fellow had a weld shop here in Ohio. The interesting part is it doesn't run. The engine is a '69 DZ 302 from a Z 28. Rocker covers were off, two push rods & rockers out, and #2 probably never was firing - no exhaust discoloration. Best guess the cam is wiped. Originally a red car, now black. Very nice new paint. My pipe dream list for this ride: 395 SBC, FiTech, rebuild the T400, Ridetech Streetgrip, and a set of Wilwoods.
Completed projects: '77 XJ12L Jag with a 462 BBC, '95 Chevy Beauville van - it was Goodyear's ground crew blimp chase vehicle.
Unfinished projects: '60 Jag MK2 on an Art Morrison Ent chassis, Ford 9 inch, Tremec 6, and an all aluminum 454 SBF. Last & unfinished is a '76 Yamaha XS 650, now 700cc, rephased engine.
Welcome to the Forum, Clyde, and congratulations on your C3 find. Exterior and interior look primo and the remainder of the work you have planned should give you a great ride!
Quite an assortment of projects you have either completed or still have ongoing!
