Hi all,
Time for a proper intro I’d say. I think I joined CF about 18 years ago but hadn’t started posting until this year. All that time ago I was looking at used C5Zs. That never happened. I had an 87 Grand National and I wasn’t ready to move on from it yet. When I first saw a GN with my dad at a Buick dealer when I was 8 I told him that day I’d have one at some point. 18 when I got it, it was my 2nd car. I kept that car until this year, so much for my thoughts of a Vette in 2004 😂
I had the GN long enough. It was rarely used these days and time for something new. When the C8 was announced I was mesmerized. GM finally did it, actually went mid rear engine. So, instead of telling my dad I’d get one this time I told my wife. I’ll grab a used one in 2-3 years for $50k and it’ll be great.
Welp….that $50k used one never happened either. Long enough into the C8 run now to convince myself to order a new one. I got my deposit process started with MacMulkin on the ferry coming back from the NYC Car Show, dad sitting next to me shocked I was actually doing it.

Vette built 11/16/22
Hopefully it’ll be in the garage late next week or early the following week. A new era after having a Grand National for 24 years or so. I had that car well over half my life. If I do the same with this one I’ll have to be driving it at 87 years old 👍
