My husband and I are restoring my 1976 Corvette that I have had for 42 years. It was my first car and drove it thru high school and for many years after, since it has been in storage for the last 15 years. We pulled it out last year, charged the battery and it started right up, old gas and all. This car has never let me down and we have been through a lot together. It is time to bring it back. Not doing a numbers matching project, going for more upgrades and modern conveniences but keeping the C3 body style. This project means a lot to me as my husband has Parkinson and will probably be his last big restoration. He wants the best for this project and to see me drive it once again. I hope I can ask ask for advise now and then because I have some different ideas for my car.
I have looked several times for answers to a question and it always brings me to the site so I am now a member.
Thanks for being here.
Welcome to the Forum, Terri, and congratulations on your long term C3!
Great that you and your husband will be able to restore your '76 exactly to your liking.
So sorry to hear about your husband's Parkinson's but maybe this joint restoration will help him push through a little longer on your behalf.
Glad that you have been to find answers to your questions along the way, and I feel sure members in the C3 General section will enjoy watching the progress along the way.
In addition to the great info in the C3 sections you may also find info you need in the General Topics section at: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ette-topics-8/. More info there addressing paint, bodywork, restoration work, engine work, etc.
Here is to great time together for you and your hubby!

Welcome to the forum!! The car sounds like an amazing car and I'm glad to hear that the two of you are restoring it! I can't imagine the memories that have been made in the car over the years. A true time capsule! Would love to see pictures of the car!
