I'm a hopeful future owner of a vette, have looked for the last couple of months, had 1 on again/off again deal that seems to be off at this moment in time, and so the search continues. Looking to get into a C6 Z06 > Grand Sport > Base with the LS3. Velocity Yellow is the color of choice, otherwise I'll have to get it wrapped yellow. This would be for summer driving whenever I don't have to drive a kid around. I guess I need to get my post count going because I need to PM a member on here about his old Z06 that is for sale at a local dealership.
I've had this for about 2 weeks now. Not sure if the previous owner was a member of these forums, but I got a 2009 Z06 that I would say has been heavily modified with all the NA bolt ons you'd expect (heads, cam, intake, headers, clutch, flex fuel kit, TB, air intake, short shifter) that dyno'd 670 rwhp on what I assume was a combo of E85/93 octane. It has the OEM exhaust with the "muffler mod" performed with the M2W switch, which was stuck on W because apparently the solenoid behind the passenger tail lights needed to be replaced. I replaced it and I wonder if I installed it correctly because the difference is almost negligible. The exhaust is obnoxiously loud and not sure what I'm going to to about it yet. It also came with Magnaflow race series exhaust, which is apparently even louder! Needless to say, I will be posting that for sale soon, I do not need an even louder exhaust. The headlight lenses are also suffering from the hazing effect I guess these are known for. My question regarding that is can it be fixed by removing the lenses and cleaning them or do I need new lenses? The weather has been quite terrible the last couple of weeks so I've only been able to drive it once, the day I purchased it when I drove it home. I've never driven a car with an aftermarket cam before, and so I stalled it a couple of times. It is a TSP stage 4 and I would call it aggressive. I need some practice time with it. It also has what I would call the ZR1 appearance package with front lip, side skirts and rear spoiler. As you can see in the one pic below, the front lip is broken but a replacement was included with the sale. The car is black but currently has a blue wrap on it.
