New guy here to CF, but long time car guy. I'm a Chevy guy at heart, but I also have much love for German makes. I just purchased a low mile, 28500, 2005 6 sd C6 yesterday. My previous Corvettes were a new 1992 6sp LT1 and a 1996 LT4. I had wanted to avoid the 2005 due to the one year only rear end, but I couldn't pass this up due to all the quality mods. At 22,500 miles, it went to Lingenfelter's in Indiana for the 427 engine package, twin Disc LPE clutch, and AR full length headers. It already had a Corsa exhaust on it, coil overs, an after market shifter. Some time before it had a Ligenfelter hood and rear bumper installed and was painted a custom copper color. Before it left Lingenfelter's, it put down 512 RWHP and 498 RW torque, so Its a rowdy driver. Looking to learn on the site as its been a long time since I had a vette, and each model has problems or weaknesses, but there is always creative ways to solve them. I'm happy to also offer advice and insight, since I'm a lifelong mechanic and engine builder. I spent 30 years in the US Navy as a Gas Turbine specialist, and the last 10 years as a senior mechanic/hydraulic specialist on a 6th generation ultra deepwater drilling ship. Just retired and looking to play with my cars and motorcycles now.
Welcome to the Forum, Bret, and congratulations on your newest Corvette!
Sounds like a real “go-getter” with the Lingenfelter work.
Thank you for your military service!
