Hello to the Corvette Family! I just purchased my first Corvette at 70 years old! It is a very nice 2006 C6 Base Convertible in Machine Silver. Had it about 3 weeks and am slowly figuring out how to drive, handling and just getting into and out of my new car! LOL Already have some thoughts about adding a front and rear parking system so I don't run into or over those darn parking blocks! Thanks for letting me into your group and be prepared because I may have some stupid questions for an old man!!

Thanks Vette DD!! We weren't originally looking for silver but this one caught our eye because of the nice condition the previous owner had kept it inside and out! Plus instead of a black top this has a storm gray. Never knew the had a different color other than black! Never to old to learn something new!

Welcome to the Forum, Caroll, and congratulations on your C6!
Understand about the parking blocks….if you are not used to a low sitting car the blocks can sneak up on you. If you can find a parking lot that is not busy perhaps your wife can help you learn how to judge where the front end of the car is in relation to the parking blocks. She can stand outside the car and give you a signal when you are getting close to the block. Several repetitions of that may be what you need to learn the relationship of where your car is to the block. You can then turn around and do the same parking exercise for your wife. Usually the back end has enough height that if you are backing into a space you will not drag the rear of the car on the block. Best wishes with this!

Thanks for the welcomes! I have a parking system coming that I used on my last car that worked great! This is the link to the system I bought: https://store.proxel.com/en/products...-0-detail.html. It is from Italy and is very easy to install and works great. It is just an audible sounding sensor, no camera. Rear sensor is activated when in reverse and front system is push button activated when pulling up to parking blocks, etc.. It is hard for me to judge where to stop when parking this car, like my previous vehicle! My wife has a Chevy Equinox and she has this problem in the front all the time. I have put the right side half of the fascia back in place several times. Parking blocks should be no taller than 3-4 inches, IMO! Lol
