Hello,
I've always been fond of Corvettes but just recently got my first. A 1993 with the 40th Anniversary package, Ruby Red Metallic paint, auto and selective ride control. At some point it got ZR-1 wheels in back with fender flares and a cowl hood. Some of you may have seen the car and maybe a previous owner is on here. It has a lot of history of being shown and it came with a lot of trophies. Certainly a first for me to own an award-winner. It's been sitting for some time so unfortunately some gremlins have popped up I'm working out to put it back on the road. Glad this forum's here, it's already helped a good bit. It is definitely the most fun car I've driven and completely unique sensation to drive, it brings back the excitement I felt at 16 with my first car.
Welcome to the Forum, Fred, and congratulations on your nice C4!
Nice subtle body changes; looks like it could have come from the factory that way and you now definitely have some tires on the back!
Thanks everybody. I'm loving the car. The ZR-1 wheels and rear flares made me love the car but now I read that they can hit the quarters and crack them. There's already a mark on the lip but the tires don't show it. Wanting to avoid body damage so, unfortunately, I may be looking at removing the flares and going to reproduction Grand Sport offset wheels in silver?
About to head out and see if it was the ICM or coil giving me trouble yesterday. No spark to the Optispark but everything else seems good.
Welcome and congrats! I also just bought a 40th Anniversary coupe—yours looks a bit nicer than mine from the photos. So far, mine is running really well (aside from a dead battery that I'm getting replaced today, but I knew the battery was pretty much end-of-life when I bought it). Good luck getting it running again!
Welcome to the forum! That's a beautiful 40th Anniversary! It really looks to be in great shape! Do you know any of the car's history? Will definitely look forward to seeing you over in the C4 section!
