Been a gear head all my life. I’ve had 4 Bette’s, 64, 69 & 74 big blocks and a 89. Bought a 70 GS Stage 1 and owned it for 32 years, sold it a couple years ago and now looking for a Vette again. Got my eye on a 04 convertible but 350 hp isn’t going to cut it. What best bang for the buck mods do you suggest?
Welcome to the Forum!
Lot of great members and helpful info in the C5 sections at: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...s-1997-2004-2/
You may want to ask your horsepower increase questions in the Tech section there. You will find two ardent camps, though; forced induction or the head/cam/induction. There are merits to both.
You did not say if your proposed ‘04 is manual or auto. If auto and with the standard 2.73 differential you will find a nice kick in the pants with going to a more performance oriented gear ratio (3.15; 3.42; 3.73, etc).
Best wishes with your planned purchase!
Welcome! Best of luck in your search! Sorry, but I can't give advice on any performance mods for the newer vehicles. All my perf mods were done to late-60's,early-70's cars. I've stayed away from working on our C7 out of respect for what I see as its complexity, and my reluctance to dive in and make a change. DON'T BE ME!
