The Corvette has been my car of choice ever since 1991 when I was 10yrs old and my father bought his 1986 Corvette from auction and I fell in love, since I was always the smallest I rarely got to see it from anywhere other than the hatch area which for me was the 3rd seat in this amazing vehicle. Fast forward close to my 16th birthday when my father sold his Corvette I can only guess since I was about o get my license having something to do with it I spent my hole life saying someday I'll have one of my own until 3 weeks ago I'm now 42 and I now have my own 1986 Chevy Corvette I only wish my father was alive to see it. Since it's now almost as old as me it has just as many problems I'm finding out.
86 isn't to bad to work on just be patient, mistakes can be expensive
You will find more info here than you even thought of but it can be a bear to find a specific answer sometimes
Have fun
Welcome to the Forum, Charles, and congratulations on your ‘86!
Even though you have some work ahead of you, I think it’s cool you got the same model Corvette as what your father had; just picture him, in spirit, along with you on your rides.
Thank you for your military service!
