I was lucky enough to grow up with a turquoise and white 1958 Corvette in my garage. I remember seeing that car and my hair standing on end because it looked (and still does) so good. Even after all this time, the '58 is a true American icon.
My identical twin brother, Aaron, bought his first C7 in 2016. I convinced him to go with a manual and he was so happy he made that choice! He loved that car and I did too. I had one for a brief time and we actually both owned the same black C7s at one point. I couldn't afford the car so I ended up doing the next best thing and I put a 430hp 2013 Corvette LS3 engine in my high school car. My goal was to create a car that would outperform my twin's C7 at half the cost - something he thought impossible.
I started the project this year and am finished by now but unfortunately my twin brother Aaron never got a chance to see my completed car and we never had our drag race.
This April (2023), Aaron visited Miami on vacation and he rented his new favorite - a C8 Corvette. He ended up crashing it and the car lit up in flames along with Aaron and his little dog, Hank. The car and his remains were unidentifiable and we had to send dental records to identify the body. Aaron was 29 and we had a funeral on our 30th birthday - June 30 - which is also the birthday of the Corvette.
To cope I stay busy and I plan to build out a 1958 C1 over the next 4 months. On here to research my project and possibly find a roller.
Thanks for having me.
