Returning to Corvette world!
I'm in the White Mountains of northeast Arizona, and recently purchased a 2015 Corvette Z51. I have owned several Corvettes over the years, the first being a 1969 427 roadster that I ordered and purchased new upon graduation from military academy in 69 (yes, I'm an old guy now). It was my daily driver, and I also raced it in SCCA A Production for several years. It was my favorite, but was stolen in 1996 and never recovered. I also bought and sold several C2s, mostly big blocks, during the early and mid 2970d, as well as a new 1978 with the L82 engine. That car had an automatic, and was referred to by my brother's ad my "imitation Corvette." It was seriously lacking in both performance and build quality, and I sold it in about 2984. I had a couple of Z28 Camaros in the interim, but caught Corvette fever again, and had to scratch the itch. I began looking for a V6 Grand Sport or Z06, but my research led me to a C7. Since I lost my left leg a few years ago, I wasn't sure I could reliably operate a clutch, and the 8 speed auto with paddle shifters was reportedly very controllable and a reasonable alternative to a manual, so I went for that. As an old racer, I value.good handling and braking, so the Z51 package was also a must. Several other items were also on my list, including an HUD, so a 2LT or 3LT trim level was sought out. I don't plan on tracking it, only street use, so, although it would be fun, a Z06 was not necessary. I found a really nice 2015 Z51 3LT coupe which I purchased in December 2023, and really enjoy it. I can feel the old Corvette heritage in it, while enjoying the modern features and improvements. It's just great to be back in a Corvette again!

Thanks to all for the welcome. I'm looking forward to the spring when the weather is better,(we're getting snow and ice intermittently, restricting the opportunities for enthusiastic driving. A run on the "Devil's, Highway ( US 191, formerly 666) is definitely in the offing, lots of nice twisties between Safford and Alpine, as good or better than Deals Gap, but not as well known. I'm definitely enjoying the ride when the weather permits though. I'll take some pics and post them in the hear future
