I just finished the purchase of a 2022 Corvette Stingray Convertible. I purchased it sight unseen from FL and I live in TX. Now I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. This will be my 5th corvette. I had to sell my last one in 2008 since my wife could no longer get in/out without a lot of pain. I missed having one for all this time. She passed away in Dec 23 so I decided I would get my "last corvette ride". I was a member of the C5 forum. I am a lifetime NCM member but haven't been to the Museum since 2006. I am registered for the NCM caravan in Aug and looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to getting back into the forum and getting reacquainted with the community.
Very glad that you are back. Terribly sorry for the circumstances. I hope that your new Corvette will bring you some beneficial distraction. God bless.
EDIT: In late August, I too bought a car from Florida and had it shipped to Texas!! May yours work out as well.

Thanks for the condolences and the Welcome. It's good to be here although it came after much sorrow. I'm looking for to hearing from members and learning all I can about the C8. WOW, what a change from my 50thAE vette, although I really liked that car.

Thank you RocketRob. I did get the vette, however, not delivered. They kept telling me when it would be picked up and then calling to say it was cancelled. After the third time, I told them to cancel the shipping order and I headed to Florida to get it. The return trip with packed with excitement and caution. Excitement for being in a vette after 16 years and caution because there were multiple severe thunderstorms crossing from the gulf across I-10 for 2 days. I watched radar forecasts and actual weather, had to backtrack and re-route, but I made it around and home without incident. Car is incredible!

Glad you got your car! Sounds like it was a real adventure getting it home! When I bought mine, it was right in the heart of hurricane season and the dealership wasn’t far from the ocean. After I bought it, it was around a week until a hauler picked up the ticket and the car — just as a tropical storm was heading towards Florida. But, it made it to me with no issues. I just looked up where Pharr is and you are in a really unique part of our wonderful state. You should have some cool sights to see with your new Corvette. Plus, some room to exercise her. Having a C6, I don’t spend much time in the C8 section, but I look forward to perhaps seeing some pictures of your car in some of the scenic areas around where you live. Safe and happy motoring.
