Good morning! New guy to the forum but not new to corvettes. Retired military with over 32 years of active service and now fully retired in the great state of North Carolina. I’ve been maintaining and repairing vehicles for close to 50 years and have restored a few along the way including a 67 Z28 Camaro, 1924 Chevrolet Superior Touring and more recently a frame off NCRS level 67 Corvette L79 Convertible which won best of show for corvettes last fall at a regional AACA event.
I recently purchased an early one owner 84 C4 Coupe from a retired Doctor with 56K miles. Sadly this car sat neglected in a detached garage for the last 20 years and even more disappointing is the poor repairs done over the years by someone who should probably have been working on tractors not cars.
The car has zero rust and paint and interior are exceptionally well preserved it’s just all of the mechanicals will need going through in addition to the myriad leaks on the engine that someone tried in vain to fix.
I paid $4K which is a decent price with all things considered. Looking forward to some of the more seasoned and experienced people for advice and knowledge. I see a lot of the same folks that also frequent the NCRS site so happy to see some of that talent here.
