My goal is to modify the car for Autocross and some light Time Attach with occasional street driving. We'll see what actually happens.
In the past I've enjoyed Pro Touring builds and had a few 1st gen Camaros. The last being a 1967 RS. The car was completely stripped down and rebuilt with Art Morrison Suspension, coilovers, LS7, T56 Magnum and many other goodies. A lot of fun. After selling the 67 the intent was to build a 69 focused more autocross and not as pretty. Prices have gotten silly IMO and I just don't have another full build in me. Chasing Corvette performance was always the goal and very hard/expensive to achieve.
After selling the 67, I picked up one the last crate LS7's from a performance dealer and promptly shipped it to Katech. They worked their wizardry to it and performed a dyno break in. It's been tucked away ever since. After recently attending some local autocross events here in Las Vegas, it was obvious the the C6 Z06 was the smart money when it comes to building a car for the intended application. So the hunt was on and as luck would have it a friend offered up his 2008 that has been very well taken care of.
The car is unmodified and a clean sheet to build on. Due to the heads needing "the fix" I've decided to do an engine swap and install the Katech built LS7 and keep the current one for a possible future project. This will be the perfect time for additional upgrades like clutch/flywheel, headers, exhaust, cold air intake, shifter, etc. Additionally I am looking at suspension upgrade. Coilover conversion, sway bars, spherical bushings and possibly drop spindles with SKF hubs. Of course wheels/tires and some seats that will hold me in place. If all goes right, I'd like to end up with this kind of vibe. Maybe minus the wing unless things get silly.
Thanks for looking. I Very much so looking forward to input and options that will guide me in achieving my goal. I greatly appreciate all that has been shared here.

Plus that Camaro was gorgeous.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Too much fun... is that possible?
Thank you. Seems like a lot of great people here.
Thank you. Hard not to like a first gen. Wish I could own them all.
Thank you. A lucky find. Learned a lot while building the Camaro. It was a lot of fun. The big lesson was Buy Once, Cry Once. Meaning get the part you want and that's right the first time. Save's some $$ and frustration in the long run.
Thank you.
Probably. It's so easy to jump into the deep end and lord knows I want to. Taking a lot of self control to build in stages and find the balance.
Thank you. That pictures doesn't do it justice IMO. Sooo... here's a few more.
Researching Flywheel and Clutches at the moment. If anyone has a link to a discussion thread on the subject, feel free to drop it here.
Thanks for looking.
