Default Back In The Game

After being gone for 10 years, I'm back. Being a diehard Corvette enthusiast for nearly my entire adult life, I completely lost interest in the obsession after losing the love of my life. I basically gave away my perfectly good, low mileage Torch Red 96 LT4. It's been a minute, but I recently decided to dip my toe back into the water, and picked up a 2003 Medium Spiral Gray Base coupe, with 60K on the clock. The previous owner had already done the work that I'd intended to do, ie: Borla exhaust, C7 Z06 wheels, cold air induction, and a few other amenities. The paint is 99% (few VERY minor scratches on the rear deck, where somebody dragged a backpack or something across it). Although the car never spent a night outside, it's definitely a driver, and he wasn't scared to drive it in the rain. The harmonic balancer looks to be running true, and the torque tube isn't clanking. The only codes I could pull up were the typical right and left door modules. At the price he offered it to me, I wasn't about to pass it up. It's an automatic, and although I would have preferred a standard, at this point...beggars can't be choosers. The little I've driven in thus far has been great, however, it's still a little disconcerting not to have my co-pilot riding in the right seat. I'm too damned old to look for another someone to fill the right seat. If the thought of riding solo becomes too much of an overwhelming burden, I can turn around and sell it for possibly a tidy profit, and chalk it up to a good try. I'm 70 years old, so it's not like I have a lot to look forward to, other than meeting new people, and making new friends at many of the local Corvette functions. That's the 50 cent tour of who I am. Glad to be here!
