Hello all-
I had been looking for a C3 for a couple of months, finally got one to work out yesterday. I wanted something with more than the base engine; this has a matching numbers L82 with a manual. But it has been rebuilt into a 383 stroker. Seller couldn't find the paperwork on the engine build so don't know all the details. He said a reputable shop in Nebraska did the work for the previous owner to him.
Put some oil in it today, I can see what looks like some nice roller rockers in there. Saw the part number for the head, that looks original. Didn't run very strong on the way home, runs smooth but not a lot of guts. After thinking about it, maybe secondaries aren't kicking in. Has a Quadrajet but I don't think it's original. Looks like a lot of emissions stuff removed, some open ports on the carb that don't seem right.
Seller said it was originally red and he recently had it painted 2016 Shark Gray. The trim tag was missing but I found it deep down in one of the glove box area pockets. Paint shop removed it for the recent paint job and didn't put it back on. It was originally Orange then painted red after that! Came with black leather that was recently redone so pretty nice inside, has the wood accents.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll be looking for help getting her in better shape so likely many questions ahead! Scott
