I've always had a Love and weakness for Vettes. I had a 1970 in 1978 when we got married. Then a really clean sweet 1996 Red Convertible about 15 years ago, and another 1996 green coupe, a couple of year ago, which soured me on C4s. The C2s and C4s are probably my favorites for some reason, but I'll never own another C4 - Optispark Nightmare.
Well, that brings us up to speed. The wife and I went to Mecums in Ft. Worth with no intention of buying. We had front row seats, just to watch all the gorgeous cars being sold, and it just happened. A 2002 Electron Blue came across the block, and nobody seemed interested. They finally got an opening bid, then another, and then it stopped right in front of us. It wasn't No Reserve, and the reserve price hadn't been met, but it just seemed too cheap to pass on, so I placed a bid. They never took the Reserve off and all of the sudden the auctioneer Hammered it and said SOLD. Well, she arrived yesterday evening and I'm just waiting on paperwork.
I'm now part of the C5 family.
(I had left this out earlier - It has 22K miles on it.)
Great story and after reading, I might add, WTH? Sounds like it as meant to be. EB is a GREAT color as far as I’m concerned. Sounds like you got a great deal that basically landed in your lap. Welcome back to Corvette-ville!
Hello and welcome. I recently found how to contact airbnb and it's great because I'm planning to visit Monaco again. That's where I saw the most Corvettes of all time. Maybe that's when I started loving these cars. I hope to buy one for myself in the near future.
