Hello all. Pleasure to be here. I live in northeast North Carolina and now have my first Corvette. It was my father’s. It’s a 1974 T-Top, L82 4-speed. I’m currently in the process of doing a restore to the interior. Eventually I’ll get around to painting her. I’m also replacing all seals and weatherstripping on the body. Carpet and seat covers are in the garage waiting as well. I’m ordering new seat foam since the original seats are a little rough and the foam is 52 years old. It needs to be replaced. It’s going to be a labor of love. He had the motor rebuilt a few years ago and the guy that built it specialized in race engines. It’s definitely not the original anemic HP she had from the factory. I hope to keep everyone updated on my progress as I go along.
Thanks to everyone with the welcomes. It’s nice to be a part of something that people are passionate about. I drove her really for the first time today. It drives like you think an old car would. That being said, this thing is rough. I have everything for redoing the interior. I mean EVERYTHING. Therein lies the problem. I’ll have the interior looking nice, but I know, just by looking at the metal under the A pillars, there is a lot of structural work under the body that’s going to need to be done and I’m not sure I’ll ever have enough money to properly do what needs to be done to all the metal on this car. It’s looking like it’s going to be a money pit. I’m not really sure I want to do this after seeing what needs to be done.
